Spudwell is a
Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and shares his home with two domestic
shorthaired cats named Ozzie and "Big Mo" Mulligan.

We moved to
Indiana from Illinois, in 1997. My husband took a job with a
company, U.S. Can. I was still commuting to Illinois everyday
until I had my 2nd child. Before she was born, we wanted a dog.
I was
brought up with a shepherd & collie mix, and the shedding was
terrible!!! I knew when I had a house of my own, I wanted a dog
that would not shed. So, my husband went to the library and got
a book on dog breeds. I was looking thru it and came up on a
breed, a non-shedding breed. "Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier ." I
never even knew what a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier was or that
one existed. We then looked up breeders on the internet and
found one in Joliet, Illinois.
When we
picked up this little guy, he was so cute!!! Like "Benji" is the
only way to describe him. The breeder thought we wanted a girl
dog, so she had one all groomed up nice. When we got there, we
told her we wanted a boy. So she went and got our Spuds. Man he
was a mess, ( outside kennels). But we all felt in love with
him. He was 6 months old when we took him home. He is now 10
years old. I still remember that day like yesterday. He is very
frightened of fireworks, thunder, & rain some times, and this is
when I would love to say see ya.......But he's my baby boy!!!!!
I love him sooo very much, & when the time comes to say good
bye.........I'll think back to the day I brought him home, and
remember all the good times our family shared with him, the
unconditional love he gave us, and cry my ever lovin heart
out!!!! Spuds, I'm not ready to take that last step, so stay
healthy, & live another 10 years for me.
