When
I was growing up my family had a Shepherd Mix. He was kind of
just our family dog, nothing special. It's so different with
Bullet.
He is like one of my own kids
, he is my Pal! (Maybe it has something to do with becoming a
mother first to find out how much you can love a dog.)
I have two children- An 11 year
old girl and a 10 year old boy. Originally I thought it would be
a good idea to get a pet for the kids because they were so timid
of animals in general. A friend of ours had a new litter of lab
puppies and one day we took the kids to see them. They didn't
know where we were going. We would go quite often to look at job
sites and we told them that we had a meeting and that they had
to come with and they had to come in with us and to sit still.
Well, we walked into the garage
and they saw the puppies and fell in love with them! It was so
heart warming to see how much they loved the pups. We went back
weekly just to visit and to play with the puppies. Then finally
after the seventh week we were able to bring one home. My
daughter picked the one but he really didn't respond to her. He
was whining for his Mama all the way home (about 5 miles) not
knowing that I was going to be his new Mama!

When we brought him home my
husband said "No way is he coming in the house, he will stay in
the garage!" (Which was dry-walled and freshly painted for the
new arrival) So I spent the first night in the garage with the
new puppy. The next night my husband had a family crisis and I
told him he could attend it if I could bring the puppy in the
house. Well from that night on "Bullet Rules!".

He is such a great dog, he has
never chewed on furniture etc... he will grab a shoe
occasionally to get our attention. I used to work outside the home
but I recently sold my business and now I am home all day and I
am so glad I have Bullet to keep me company while the kids are
in school.
My day begins at 6 AM when
Bullet and I walk down our driveway (We have 7acres) to get the
paper! The exercise that dog has me doing is incredible. It's
hard to keep up with him, he loves to retrieve his ball about
150 times a day- Thank goodness for a toy called "The Chuck It!"
Bullet loves to swim in our in-ground pool and I have become
very attached to him. He is very loving, well mannered and a
real asset to our family. We are very fortunate to get a dog as
well behaved as Bullet. He is 18 months old now and he's just a
sweetie!
My husband always wanted a
Mustang Convertible car and I finally said OK and we got one for
his birthday last January. He asked me what we should put on the
license plate and I said; "BULLET!!" what else?
